"The 'Lectionen' were written by different members of the brotherhood as statements of their spiritual condition and handed to Conrad Beissel, who read them to the congregation at the meeting of the folowing Sabbate." -- Funke (in Doll & Funke). Hildeburn and Seidensticker attribute authorship of whole work to Johann Conrad Beissel, while Funke states that only the appended "Theosophische Sprüche" were definitely written by Beissel, while the "Theosophische Gedichte," also appended, are attributed to Beissel
